Where is Wão made?
Our ceremonial cacao is grown with Love in El Salvador and blended with Wonder in Amsterdam. Product manufacturing & packaging is in Veenendaal by Roekel Food Solutions.

What is ceremonial cacao?
Firstly, ceremonial cacao comes from an indigenous strain of cacao, called criollo. Most chocolate you are used to comes from the strain, called forastero, for cheap & easy growing, but little care for the workers.
Secondly, it preserves the entire cacao bean, rather than splitting off the cocoa butter, which is rich in minerals and other goodies.
Thirdly, it is only lightly processed with low heat. This means the cacao bean retains all of its wonderful natural goodness.
Civilizations like the Mayans, Aztecs & Olmecs held cacao in the highest esteem, cherishing it as a medicine, as a currency & as a typical wedding gift.
Most amazingly, the Aztecs used it to cheer up victims who did not want to dance before their own ritual sacrifice!
Is Wão made from organic ingredients?
All of the ingredients in Wão are certified organic, other than the ceremonial cacao & Espellete pepper, which are sourced from small producers we have visited. These both practice organic cultivation and sustainable agriculture without pesticides, chemical fertilizers or chemical treatment. However they are too small to have the official certification.
Why isn't Wão's ceremonial cacao certified organic?
Wão’s ceremonial cacao is it’s only non-certified organic ingredient together with Espellete pepper. It comes from a small finca in El Salvador which follows organic practices, but is too small to apply for the official certification.
What is an adaptogen?
Adaptogens are said to help your body respond to stress, anxiety, & fatigue, and improve overall wellbeing.
People think that they bring our bodies back to a steady balance by managing our response to physical & mental stressors.
Are the mushrooms in Wão psychedelic?
Nope. These mushrooms are not psychedelic, nor do they possess any psychoactive properties. They're just great for your brain and overall health.
Is Wão vegan & gluten free?
Yes Wão is 100% plant based & gluten free.
Does Wão contain nuts or other common allergens?
We cannot provide complete assurance that it is completely free from traces of any nuts, eggs, wheat or other common allergens.
Can I drink Wão while pregnant or nursing?
It is advised to seek guidance from your physician or healthcare provider prior to consumption if you have any concerns.
Is Wão safe for kids?

Can I edit or cancel my order?
In case you would like to change or cancel your order for any reason, please contact us immediately. Please note that once an order has been fulfilled, it can no longer be cancelled.
What payment types do you accept?
iDEAL – iDEAL is directly linked to your internet banking with an online purchase.
We do not charge extra costs for a payment with iDEAL.
CREDIT/ DEBIT CARD – We accept VISA, Mastercard, AMEX & Maestro.
All credit & debit cardholders are subject to validation and authorization by both the card issuer and us, to maintain security and prevent fraud.
All transactions will be completed by Stripe. You’ll see Kiss of Cacao B.V. and your order number on your bank statement.
We do not charge additional costs for payment by credit card.
Please note that the credit card must have a Card Verification Code number (CVC-Code) on the back. Once your card and payment have been approved, you will receive an email confirming the purchase.
What delivery options do you offer?
We offer free shipping within the Netherlands. Whilst shipping costs vary for other countries, we offer very reasonable rates everywhere. If you don't see your country listed, please get in touch with us to see if we can add it for you.
We will process your order & ship it within a period of 1-2 business days.
For deliveries within The Netherlands, you can expect to receive your package within 1-3 working days.
If you are located within Europe, you can expect to receive your package within 2-6 working days.
Can I return my Wão?
As Wão is a food product we unfortunately cannot accept returns. However, if you are unsatisfied with your purchase or have experienced any issues during the process, please do provide us with as much detail as possible on the issue and we’ll try our best to find a fair solution.
